In the stunning location of Exeter Cathedral, Dorset House was yesterday presented with the prestigious award of ‘Best Bed & Breakfast in the South-West’. The award was presented by Victoria Graham, host of BBC’s Spotlight

The award follows an extensive period of research and mystery shopping with the judges praising Dorset House for its stylish décor, relaxing atmosphere and beautifully cooked, imaginative breakfasts. The judges were very impressed with the attentive yet unobtrusive welcome that they received and by the cleanliness and comfort of the B&B, particularly the quality of the beds and bedding.

Following the visit earlier this year, Dorset House was awarded a Gold Award and was then nominated as a finalist for the ‘best of the best’ award just a few weeks ago.

At a buzzing lunch for 400 people we were served a vast array of amazing local foods produced by the finalists in the various food categories. To top off the day, the announcement was made that we had won the award, taking us totally by surprise. It’s an incredible boost to be recognised in this manner and so great to gain recognition for the work that we put into sourcing great food from local suppliers and thanks has to be extended to them for helping us win this award.
