Interior designers Alice and Michelle at Ryder & Hope focus on ethical, locally made homewares, accessories, tableware, body products, and selected clothing in natural colourways, as well large and small works by local artists, some of whose work can be found in Dorset House. The products are beautifully curated, styled, and come gift wrapped on request. Their selection changes throughout the seasons, so its always worth popping in. They even stock well-designed rain coats if you find yourself in need!

Town Mill area and old part of town along the River Lym have a number of independent shops, as well as the Malthouse Gallery, which showcase local art. If you are looking for souveniers or gifts, there are a number of options in the Town Mill area, from jewellry and pottery to the beautiful studio of Molesworth and Bird which showcases their seaweed art, all created from locally foraged plants. If you'd like to try yourself, they also run seaweed foraging and pressing workshops, some prints of which we have in Dorset House. Wander along Coombe Street or Drakes passage to find more indpenedent shops, from Fuego's Latin American handicrafts and riotous greeting cards, to Paper Bird cards and stationary, vintage digs at the Velvet Loop along Drake's Way and of course, two different Fossil Shops.

Kathrens Rare Knitwear is the ultimate in individuality. Unique designs abound, be it jackets and cardigans or the signature ‘Sari Scarf’. Many items are upcycled from old cashmere. Bespoke pieces can be created to your specifications.  The shop (most often open Weds-Sun) is located opposite Town Mill Bakery which is perfect for a reviving coffee and pastry.

Bookshop browsing and selection is a favorite pastime, and Lyme Regis Bookshop at the bottom of the high street has a well-curated selection of new titles, classics, non-fiction, cook books, and a large and diverse section dedicated to local titles including the natural history of the Jurassic Coast.  

Ammonite Fine Foods brings together the best of Dorset and Devon's locally-made products. From chutneys to chocolates and snacks, with a vast selection of South West Gins, get your goodies here. There are often tastings going on in store to help you choose your goodies. The knowledgeable staff will happily help you put together a hamper or guide you towards the best tonic for your Gin.

The Seriously Good Wine Company (the name says it all, right?) stocks a large selection of wines, spirits, ales, and ciders, including many delicious local offerings and their own Seriously Good Gin. With regular tastings to wet your whistle and the friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you select your perfect Lyme Regis souvenir!
