At Dorset House we have a fully licensed Honesty Bar – here’s how it works:
In the snug is a fridge full of wines, beers and soft drinks. Help yourself to whatever takes your fancy and let us know on departure what you’ve had so that we can add it to your bill. We leave handy tick sheets by the bar so that you can keep track – and if you’re here for a few nights, please feel free to use a bottle stop and keep your unused wine for another night in the fridge (Sorry - we don’t do wine by the glass)

Spirits
We have an astounding artisan spirit trade in Dorset and the South-West and are constantly adding new finds to the bar. Particular favourites are Conker Gin in all its guises from Pink to Navy Strength and Black Cow Vodka, distilled from the otherwise waste whey that remains from the production of Barber Cheddar. Other local tipples include Beckford’s Run, Liberty Vodka, Kingston Black Cider Brandy and Pentire non-alcoholic spirit.
There is of course a range of Scotch to enjoy in front of the fire too.
Beers
Local breweries are well represented at Dorset House. Gilt and Flint is one of the few truly organic breweries in the UK. They operate a circular production process where the spent grain remaining after the brewing process is fed to the farm’s pigs who in turn fertilise the fields ready for the grain. Small scale brewing ensures that Gilt and Flint continue to produce contemporary beers and constantly look to reduce their footprint with cans being their latest innovation to reduce the impact of transportation.
We also stock beers by Gyle 59 as well as local ciders and cocktails by BarBuoys in Devon who pre-mix using local spirits to ensure that you can enjoy a delicious cocktail without fuss.
