Dorset House has only grown richer with age. The house itself dates back to the early 19th century, a Grade II-listed Georgian gem in the heart of Lyme Regis overlooking the Jurassic Coast, with elegant lines and deep character.  In its early days, Dorset House served as an MP's headquarters, but has since served many different roles: a school, a guesthouse, and eventually, an award-winning boutique bed and breakfast.

Dorset House was thoughtully restored to modern elegance in 2014, blending heritage with modern hospitality.  Great care was taken to use sustainable building methods, including repairing and reusing materials, rather than replacing, whereever possible, as a reminder that the best things stand the test of time.  

If the walls at Dorset House could tell the story of Lyme Regis, they’d likely swirl their glass, remarking on smugglers’ whispers from Lyme’s famous Cobb, Jane Austen dancing, the intrepid fossil hunter Mary Anning, and countless travelers who’ve stopped here to breathe in the salty air and leave behind stories.
