Does Dorset House Offer Free Wifi? 

Yes

What Types of Rooms Are Available at Dorset House? 

Dorset House has 5 guest rooms - 2 larger Premium Rooms, and 3 Standard Rooms, all styled for modern comfort with antique touches, and containing modern en suite baths with underfloor heating and rain showers. 

Does Dorset House Have Rooms With Sea Views Available? 

Yes. As we are perched up higher in Lyme Regis, our Sea View and Lighthouse rooms provide the most extensive views of the town and the sea, including views of Golden Cap. 

May I Request a Two Twin Bed Configuration For the Premium Rooms?

Yes. The Superking beds in both the Sea View and Light House Premium Rooms can be reconfigured to Twins upon request. Please indicate this request at the time of booking.  

May I Request Non-Feather Bedding?

Yes, we have wool and other non-feather bedding for those allergic to feathers. Please indicate this request at the time of booking.  

Does Dorset House Have Parking? 

No. There is no car park at Dorset House. There is an area to the front of the house where you can pull up and drop luggage. The nearest car park is Holmbush, approx 300m along the road, or there is free on street parking nearby. 

Can I Get To Dorset House By Train? 

Yes!  The nearest train station is Axminster, about 12 min drive away.  There is a regularly scheduled bus, or we recommend the following taxi companies:  Eco Cabs 01297 445444, Causley Cabs 07427709533, or Axminster Taxis 01297 34000. 

Can I Walk To The Beach? 

Yes! It's about a 10 min walk downhill along the High Street to get to the Beach and Marine Promenade.  You can also walk to the Town Mill artisan area, the Mary Anning Statue, the Jane Austen Gardens, and many more places.  For more inspiration see our recommendations here: Explore Lyme Regis.  

Does Dorset House Offer Luggage Storage? 

Yes, complimentary luggage storage is available before check-in or after check-out.   

What Time is Check-In and Check-Out? 

Typical check-in is between 4:00-8:30pm. Please let us know closer to time your estimated arrival time.  Check-out is between 9:30-10:30am (for earlier checkout times, please arrange with us in advance to ensure you get breakfast!).  

What Time is Breakfast Served? 

At Dorset House, we want guests to have a relaxed breakfast experience.  Therefore we ask that guests choose either the "Earlier" seating at 8:30am, or the "Later" seating at 10am.  Coffee and tea are available in each room, as well as in our snug, and fruit and milk are available on the landing. 

Can Dorset House Accomodate My Dietary Sensitivities? 

At Dorset House, we will strive to accomodate any food allergy or intolerance as best we can, and look forward to ensuring you have a complete and indulgent breakfast experience.  Please provide advance notice in the guest information form.  

Does Dorset House Have a Minimum Stay Length? 

Yes, we typically have a two-night minimum stay.  There may be occasions where one night bookings become available so please contact us if you require a one night booking.

Is There a Discount Offer for a Single Traveler? 

Yes, a discount of £15 is provided for single occupancy for any room.

Is Dorset House Adults Only? 

We welcome children 12 and older at Dorset House. The Lighthouse suite has a sofa bed for an older child or guest for £30.  Younger children are most welcome if you are booking out all 5 rooms for a family or larger group gathering (see group booking details below).  Please note that the property is Grade II listed and as such it is not possible to make the building totally child friendly. All bathrooms contain walk in showers rather than baths.  Please feel free to inquire for further information.

Is Dorset House Pet Friendly?  

Yes! We have 2 rooms (1 Standard - Church View, and 1 Premium - Sea View) that can accomodate a small dog under 15 kgs / 35 lbs with addition of our "Pooch Package" (more information on this package coming soon!).  Cats and other pets are not allowed. 

Are Group Booking Rates Available?

Yes! Dorset House is a wonderful destination for family, friend, or colleague groups, with 5 comfortable bedrooms all with modern en suite bathrooms, and a delicious daily breakfast. The snug and dining areas provide precious opportunities for your group to spend quality time together in relaxing and comfortable surroundings. We have hosted family events, workshops, wedding receptions, and literary events.  We can make recommendations for local activities and also help organise catering for lunch or dinner in our beautiful dining room if you wish, or recommend great places for a special meals locally.  Please inquire for group rates and options!

Are Hair Dryers Provided? 

Yes, hair dryers are provided in every room. 

Is Smoking or Vaping Allowed Inside Dorset House?

No, all Dorset House rooms and public areas including the veranda are non smoking.

Is Dorset House Accessible for Wheel Chairs?

All of our Guest Rooms are on the second floor, and, as a historic Grade II home, there is no elevator in Dorset House. 

What Are The Booking Terms And Conditions? 

Dorset House requires a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The balance is payable 14 days before your stay.

Regretfully any late cancellations made within 14 days of the arrival date will be charged at 100% of the accommodation cost. As a goodwill gesture, we try to relet any late cancellation and if successful may refund accordingly less an admin charge (£30).

If a room is cancelled more than 14 days before the arrival date, we will refund the deposit minus an admin charge (£30). Alternatively, the booking can be moved to another date without an admin charge

What Payment Methods Does Dorset House Accept? 

We accept most major credit / debit cards including American Express.

What Happens If My Insured Trip is Canceled? 

Should you need documentation to support your insurance claim, we will always help in any way we can.
